The Ladies Section

Whatever your standard of golf and however you like to play, we are sure you will find something to suit as part of our Ladies Section.

All lady members automatically become part of the section - there is no extra fee to be paid! There are also virtually no restrictions on when you can play (the exceptions are Wednesday mornings and Friday mornings when the Senior Men and Men's Sections have dedicated competition times). It isn't one sided though - we have our own tee times on a Tuesday morning.

The ladies committee organise competitions for every Tuesday - ranging from the more serious medals to stablefords and (especially in winter) fun team events. You don't have to have a regular playing partner - the online booking system means you can sign up to play whenever and with whomever you want.

If match play is your thing, you will be delighted to know that the Section takes an active part in several County competitions, such as the North Hants Trophy, Stoneham Cup and Hayling Trophy.

If your aspirations are a little lower we have annual friendly matches against a number of local clubs. The rivalry is just as fierce - even though we are only fighting over tea and cake!

We also play a number of mixed matches (sign-up sheets can be found in the main corridor or the clubhouse).

Weekend and Social Golf

Not everyone has the luxury of being able to play on Tuesday mornings.

Each Saturday and Sunday, the Club runs a day-long competition that is open to any member. To take part, book a tee time via the online booking system then, at the club, sign into the competition using the PSI machine in the ProShop.

Quite a few ladies take tee slots on a Thursday and Friday morning to play Social golf. You can either take a free slot or start another of your own - I'm sure you will soon be joined by other like-minded individuals.

Socialising

Of course, it's not all about golf. Most ladies head for the clubhouse once their Tuesday round is over to top up on tea and sandwiches and put the world to rights. They are often joined by a few friends who are no longer playing or who are taking a break.

As you can see, our Christmas Lunch is always well attended, as is our annual 'Away Day' where we get to try out our skills on another course that is usually a little further afield.

Our buddy System

Joining a new club can be daunting - even if you are an experienced golfer. Our ladies section takes pride in trying to make this as painless as possible. New members are matched with a 'buddy', who will be there to show you the ropes.
