In January 2008 the Greens Committee agreed that there should be consistency of decisions in respect of course set-up and guidelines were established; the procedure below has been agreed for use this winter (2010).
1. For a hard ground frost temporary greens will be in play.
2. For a light surface frost the main greens will remain in play.
3. For a heavy surface frost which could last all day temporary greens will be used.
4. For a surface frost on previously flooded greens temporary greens will be in play.
5. With thawing ground and frozen subsoil temporary greens will be used as root damage can occur.
6. When greens are excessively wet temporary greens will be played.
7. The course will be closed when the temporary greens become unplayable.
8. The course WILL remain as set up unless the weather deteriorates.
9. Trolleys and buggies will be permitted.
10. If ground conditions become very muddy hedgehog wheels on pull trolleys will be mandatory with electric trolleys and buggies banned.
In permitting trolleys we ask that ALL members and visitors walk/drive well away from the tees, greens and surrounds.
Players using buggies are asked to drive and park in the rough.
